Supporting Families Through
Our Memorial Services
Memorial Service Details
Typically, services are 90 minutes and include up to 6 family members. Upon departing the dock, we navigate the serene and picturesque waters of Huntington Harbour to the designated memorial site. Once the vessel is anchored, family members and loved ones are invited to conduct their memorial service according to their preferences.
When the family and friends are prepared, the basket containing the ashes is lowered just above the waterline for scattering. Family members are welcome to participate in the scattering if they choose.
The Captain will then circle the memorial site twice, allowing time for final farewells from family and friends. In accordance with maritime tradition, the Captain will ring the ship’s bell eight times to signify the “last watch.” Subsequently, we will return through the harbor to the dock.
Sunset Charters also provides a Memorial Certificate, detailing the date, time, and precise GPS coordinates of the ceremony.
We offer a range of services tailored to the family’s wishes, all conducted with the highest levels of care, compassion, and professionalism.
